Dee
Hello! I'm Dee! Asian music enthusiast, student of books, lover of cake. I take my anime faves very seriously. My first anime as a child was Sailor Moon but what really solidified my status as an anime otaku was Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (2006). Season 3 when??
Anime has always been more than just entertainment for me. It has allowed me to discover things about the world and myself by watching the journeys the characters undergo. Through anime I have formed lasting connections with people whom I consider dear friends. Long story short, anime is srs business. Although I'm open to many different genres of anime, I'm a sucker for slice-of-life, music themed, and cute romance stories. Shows about a group of people coming together to complete a goal are also favorites.
A few tidbits about my life outside of anime: I’m a really big KPOP fan and I love going to concerts. Writing is a big hobby of my mine and I hope to improve my skills through this site. I like nail art but I’m mediocre at best. One day I’ll be pro…
I'm looking forward to writing with the rest of the MADDHouse crew and hopefully you guys enjoy what we've got to offer. (And boy, what an offering it is!)
こんにちわ! MADDHouseへよこうそ!
Ai
’Sup. I’m Ai. Forever a lurker, I’ve finally decided to share my shit exquisite taste in anime with the world. And by “the world”, I mean the two or three of you that somehow stumble onto this blog in the wee hours of the morning after realizing, in your drunken state, that you’ve developed strong opinions about a Japanese cartoon and would very much like to pick a good old-fashioned internet fight with any reviewer that says otherwise. Or maybe you have exquisite taste too. I can’t be sure.
I’ve been watching anime since I was a kid. Pokemon. Yu-Gi-Oh. The usual Saturday morning staples. I also grew up on Studio Ghibli films. Based Ghibli. Based Miyazaki. As I got older, I began to dabble in the various dubbed series that aired on Adult Swim. FMA. S-Cry-Ed. FLCL. I started seriously following anime on a regular basis sometime around 2006. I have Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (as well as Dee and Desu) to thank for that. For the past decade, I’ve been following the comings and goings of each new season, reveling in a medium that delivers as both an art form and as a source of near-limitless entertainment. Or as glorious flaming wreckage. I’m looking at you Glasslip. I’m a fan of series from pretty much every genre under the sun, although I do tend towards sci-fi/fantasy and comedy offerings.
In real life, I’m a recent university graduate with a B.S. in Biotechnology currently holding down a graveyard shift position at a nearby pharmaceutical company. When I’m not despairing over my substantial college debt or my unnatural sleep schedule, you can find me playing video games (mostly Destiny these days), looking for good places to eat and explore, and enjoying the never-quite-sane company of my family and friends.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy/despise/flag this blog. Blood runs thicker than water. And it’s anime that flows through our veins. Surgeon General approved. Restrictions may apply. Results may vary.
Desu
Where to begin? I'm not one for engaging introductions, but I have a myriad of interests, with anime being an integral part of my life. Otherwise, why do this blog to begin with? I've been watching anime as long as I can remember, from the starting point that was Pokemon, Yugioh, and the shows on Toonami, to the seasonal releases coming out each year. It doesn't matter what kind of show it is, chances are I'll enjoy it. From comedic SoL, tender romance, to something more DEEP. Although I tend to gravitate towards sports shows, or those that involve a particular group of people, as their chemistry can be the most fascinating thing to watch. In essence, anime provides both entertainment and a reminder of the little qualities in life. And those can come from the most unlikely of shows.
Other interests include gunpla, writing, and art. I'm not exactly the best at all of those though. I don't know about the next decade or two, but I don't think I'll tire of anime any time soon. I hope we can provide something substantial to the two to three people probably reading this blog.
Mii
Hey there, it's a Mii! A long time fan and consumer of anime and Japanese culture, I enjoy reading reviews and discussions on the various series of the season on /r/anime and Random Curiosity. After watching countless shows I can easily say that one of my favorite aspects of anime has to be the music. The sheer amount of emotions that the music can elicit from me is truly wonderful. Combine that with beautiful animation, thought-provoking dialogue, and amazing character interations and you can easily see how anime has become a constant in my life. Writing for this blog will give me a chance to
My background with anime started with the various English dubbed 'cartoons' that aired on TV such as Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon. Later on I advanced to shows like S-cry-ed, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Eureka Seven. Then I realized that the internet and streaming services would allow me unlimited access to the shows I want to watch. And from there, here I am! An ardent follower of anime, manga, and fansubbers alike. I watch whatever catches my attention, which usually amounts to romcoms, action, fantasy, and sci-fi.
As a current university student, anime is a treasure that transcends this mortal coil, i.e. the tedium of school. In my spare time when I'm not attempting to binge watch the series on my backlog, I like to spend hours online browsing reddit, fixing subtitles on fansubbed releases, playing various games, eating out with friends, and reading books/manga. I hope your stay here at MADDHouse is an enjoyable one that will provide deep insight and enthralling conversations! (I can also do yelling and arguing if you're more comfortable with that.)
